The unexpected trigger? Lopez’s 2010 romantic comedy, The Back-up Plan, which Brooklyn had her eye on after spotting a cute dog in the movie’s trailer. Vanessa, no stranger to navigating tricky parenting moments, thought it would be an easy watch with her daughter. But things took an unexpected turn right from the start.
Recalling the moment, Vanessa said, “She said, ‘Mommy, I really want to see this one. It has a cute doggy in it.'” With that sweet request, Vanessa figured she could ease into the film without facing too many awkward questions. However, that idea was quickly shattered when the first scene arrived: Jennifer Lopez’s character is in a doctor’s office with her legs in stirrups, preparing for a procedure, and a Q-tip is introduced to the scene.
“I’m thinking I’m going to ease into it,” Vanessa continued, laughing at the memory. “First scene, she’s in the chair, legs up in stirrups. He comes in with a Q-tip.”
