Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has once again shown his immense heart, sharing an emotional video with his fans that captures a deeply touching moment with a young fan, Kane, who passed away just days after their meeting. On April 6, Johnson posted the video footage from a video call he had with Kane on March 11, arranged through Make-A-Wish America.
The video, which was filmed from Kane’s hospital bed, shows the 52-year-old actor warmly introducing himself to Kane, his parents Christine and Charlie, and his twin brother Dennis. Johnson’s presence radiated kindness as he immediately noticed the little details in Kane’s room—like a hook resembling the one from Maui, his character from Moana, and the Hei Hei and Moana dolls by Kane’s side. He even mentioned a friendship bracelet his daughter, Tiana, had made for him, which matched the one Kane was wearing.

The moment culminated in a powerful, heartfelt rendition of “You’re Welcome,” the iconic song from Moana, with Johnson singing alongside Kane’s family. Even though Kane was unable to speak, Johnson shared that he could “feel this little boy’s smile” and the strength of his spirit, known in Hawaiian culture as “mana.”
The video then transitioned to the gentle and soulful voice of Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, as his cover of “Over the Rainbow” played in the background. The footage was accompanied by a montage of Kane’s life, filled with sweet moments that reflected his strength and adventurous spirit, not unlike the character of Maui.
In the post’s caption, Johnson expressed his emotional connection with Kane. “My heart always skips a beat whenever I get the call from my friends at @makeawishamerica letting me know we have a ‘Rush Wish’ that needs to happen right away,” Johnson wrote. “On March 11th, I had the privilege of making Kane’s wish come true – and despite not being able to speak when we met, I FELT this little boy’s SMILE, and felt this little boy’s MANA. His mana was beautiful. His mana was strong.”
Sadly, just one week later, on March 18, Kane passed away. Johnson shared his condolences with Kane’s parents, Charles and Christine, acknowledging their loss with deep sympathy. “To his parents, Charles and Christine, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. Sending all my love, light and aloha. Stay strong,” he wrote. The actor also extended his support to Kane’s twin brother, Dennis, telling him, “you’re an AWESOME brother and I can’t wait to shake your hand one day.” He also jokingly thanked Dennis for “helping me sing You’re Welcome … you made it sound good!!!”
Before concluding his post, Johnson quoted a moving statement from Kane’s mother, Christine, who expressed that her son’s legacy of light should continue. “Kane brought so much light to everyone who met him, so I want to continue to share that light,” she said.
Johnson’s post ended with a tribute to Kane: “#kane 🕊️✨🪝,” a simple yet poignant way of honoring the young boy’s life and the impact he had on those around him. This heartwarming interaction between Johnson and his fan is a reminder of the powerful impact a simple act of kindness can have, leaving a lasting legacy of love and aloha.
