“Broadway Took My Babies!” — Jennifer Lopez Says Her Twins Might Skip College for the Stage

Jennifer Lopez may have conquered music, film, and television — but her next act might just be unfolding on the Broadway stage, thanks to her kids.

The global superstar, 56, recently opened up about her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, revealing that both teens have developed a serious passion for musical theatre — one so strong that Lopez jokes Broadway might “steal them away before college does.”

“They’re Leaving. They’re Going.”

Appearing on Live With Kelly and Mark on October 6, Lopez spoke candidly about visiting colleges with her twins and the bittersweet feeling that comes with watching them grow up.

“It’s crazy. We’re visiting a college today,” she said. “It’s happening. They’re leaving. They’re going.”

While the milestone fills her with pride, the This Is Me… Now singer admitted the transition is emotional.

“I’m happy because I remember how exciting that time of my life was — figuring out what I wanted to do with my life,” she said. “It’s an adventure, and I want that for them. But I also think, ‘Oh, I’m gonna be by myself.’”

“Broadway Took My Babies!”

In a lighthearted moment, Lopez confessed that she might already be losing her twins — not to college, but to the stage.

“I take my kids to see as many shows as I can,” she told CBS News Sunday Morning in a recent interview. “They love musicals. I have a musical theatre kid right now, and I’m living my best life.”

Laughing, she added, “They go away for camp for musical theatre and they do all the shows. And I get to go see them — it’s fantastic.”

Rumors of a potential Lopez family Broadway debut quickly spread online, with fans gushing over the idea of Max or Emme following in their mother’s artistic footsteps. “Broadway took my babies!” J.Lo joked, clearly proud of their creative drive.

A Home That Always Feels Like ‘Home’

Lopez, who finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck earlier this year, also spoke about how she’s worked hard to create a safe and loving environment for her kids.

“Since they were born, I was like, whatever this is — whatever we create, the three of us together — it’s going to be something that they always want to come back to,” she explained. “When I go home, it feels good. It smells like home, it tastes like home. All of it.”

That foundation, she says, has become even more important as her family navigates change. “We’re close. We’re a close-knit three,” Lopez shared. “We had to bond together, and that kind of changed things and made it really beautiful for us.”

From the Block to Broadway

Though Lopez has built one of the most enduring careers in entertainment, she says nothing compares to seeing her children thrive in their own creative passions.

“I’ve spent my life on stage,” she reflected, “but watching them perform — that’s a whole different kind of pride.”

As her twins prepare for the next chapter, Lopez is taking it all in stride — part stage mom, part sentimental parent, and all heart.

“Fame, movies, success — those things come and go,” she said. “But when your kids are happy, that’s everything.”

Whether Max and Emme choose college or curtain calls, one thing is certain: Jennifer Lopez will be there in the front row — cheering louder than anyone in the theater.
