NFL Fans Are Furious After Patriots’ ‘Minorrrrrrr’ Post — Here’s Why It Got Deleted Fast

The New England Patriots’ social media team found themselves in hot water Sunday night — and it all started with what they thought was a harmless celebration.

After selecting Memphis cornerback Kobee Minor with the final pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Patriots posted an image of Minor with the caption “A Minorrrrrrrrrrrr,” dragging out the rookie’s last name in dramatic fashion. But to many fans — and critics — the reference wasn’t innocent.

It immediately drew parallels to a controversial lyric from Kendrick Lamar’s diss track aimed at Drake, where the rapper insinuated serious accusations. Considering the ongoing lawsuit between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, sparked partly by those same accusations during Super Bowl LIX, fans quickly called the Patriots’ post tone-deaf and wildly inappropriate for an official NFL team account.

Screenshots flooded X within minutes.
Memes. Outrage. Thinkpieces.

Even after the Patriots deleted the post, the damage was done.

“It’s one thing for fans to make jokes,” one user wrote. “It’s another for a professional franchise to wade into this mess — especially when legal battles are still active.”

This slip-up raises a larger question about how far official sports accounts should go when trying to be “relatable” online. In today’s world, one wrong word can spark a firestorm — and no amount of deleted posts can undo the screenshot receipts.

For the Patriots, this “Minor” mistake became a major headache — fast.
