Patriots’ Way-Too-Early 53-Man Roster Has Some Shocking Names — and Even Bigger Snubs

The 2025 NFL Draft is barely in the rearview, but that hasn’t stopped Patriots insiders from piecing together a way-too-early look at the team’s final 53-man roster. And if the first projections are any indication, there’s already controversy brewing in Foxborough.

Among the biggest surprises?
Several mid-round rookies — including sixth-round cornerback Kyle McCord — are projected to leapfrog veterans and lock down roster spots. Meanwhile, names fans assumed were safe, like veteran linebacker Anfernee Jennings, are suddenly sitting squarely on the bubble.

Even more shocking are the early snubs.

Promising second-year wideout Kayshon Boutte? Left off several lists.
Solid special teamers like Brenden Schooler? Also in danger, as the Patriots look to get younger and faster across the board.

The message is clear: under new leadership, New England is not afraid to shake things up.

Of course, it’s only April, and a lot can change once training camp battles heat up. But the tone is already set — and if these early projections hold true, expect heartbreak, breakout stars, and more than a few angry debates across Patriots Nation.

One thing’s for sure: in 2025, nothing will be handed to anyone in Foxborough. Everything will have to be earned.
