Garage Beer, Bear Suits, and Kelce Chaos – Inside the Wildest Race You’ll Ever See

It began as a joke — two comedians, one cave, and a spontaneous Thanksgiving Day 5K challenge. But on a sunny morning in Tampa, it turned into a full-blown celebration of sweat, silliness, and celebrity as NFL legend Jason Kelce showed up for the 2 Bears 5K, joining a crowd of fans and famous faces for a race like no other.
The event, brainchild of comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer — known for their riotous 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast — was never meant to be serious. That’s kind of the point. When Segura ran a 5K on Thanksgiving and dared Kreischer to do the same, they didn’t expect it to snowball into a full-scale, sponsor-backed, fitness-meets-festival event. But that’s exactly what happened.
Jason Kelce, recently retired from the NFL and quickly becoming America’s favorite off-the-field personality, was one of the surprise attendees. Dressed for fun more than speed, Jason ran alongside fans, friends, and fellow comedians — all participating in a “no pressure, no timer” race designed to be more about joy than pace.
“I love the idea of making movement fun,” Kelce told reporters after the event. “This isn’t about who’s first or last — it’s about community, health, and yeah, maybe some beer.”
That beer? None other than Garage Beer, the Kelce brothers’ own light lager, which proudly sponsored the 5K. Chilled cans awaited runners at the finish line — a reward that perfectly fit the event’s spirit. For many, it was less about shaving seconds off a personal record and more about high-fiving someone in a ridiculous costume while sipping a cold brew.
Photos from the race tell the full story: runners in bear suits, cheers from the sidelines, a DJ blasting throwback hits, and Jason Kelce — as animated as ever — embracing the chaos with that signature blend of intensity and humor that fans adore.
But beyond the absurdity, there was something deeply endearing about it all. Here were athletes, comedians, and everyday folks united by movement and laughter — no egos, just endorphins.
As the day wrapped, Bert Kreischer, shirtless and red-faced as ever, took the mic. “We didn’t plan for this to get big,” he shouted, beer in hand. “But when your friends show up — and one of those friends is Jason freaking Kelce — you know you’re onto something special.”
The 2 Bears 5K may have started as a comedy bit, but in a world that often takes itself too seriously, it has become a refreshing reminder that fitness, fun, and friendship don’t have to be separate things.
And with Jason Kelce’s surprise appearance and Garage Beer’s enthusiastic presence, it’s safe to say this won’t be the last laugh-filled 5K we see from this crew.
