The Philadelphia Eagles may have pulled off one of the most efficient and value-packed drafts in recent memory. General Manager Howie Roseman once again proved why he’s among the best in the business, turning eight original picks into a ten-player haul that’s already turning heads across the NFL. With a sharp eye for talent and a firm strategy built around Power 4 conference athletes, Roseman didn’t just fill holes—he reshaped the Eagles’ future.
It all began with a clear defensive priority. After losing eight defenders in free agency, Roseman responded by selecting defensive players with the team’s first five picks. This included two explosive SEC linebackers—Jihaad Campbell from Alabama and Smael Mondon from Georgia—each praised for speed, athleticism, and leadership. Campbell, in particular, was seen by many scouts as a top-10 talent, and his fall to Philly is widely viewed as a steal.
One of the biggest surprises came on Day 3, when the Eagles snagged Virginia Tech pass rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland. After transferring from Florida, he notched 16 sacks in 2024—third-most in the nation—and earned All-American honors. Analysts now call him the “steal of the draft.”
Offensively, Philly didn’t hold back either. They added three promising offensive linemen—Drew Kendall, Myles Hinton, and Cameron Williams—who bring both size and long-term developmental upside. And true to their “QB factory” philosophy, the Eagles grabbed former Ohio State and Nebraska quarterback Kyle McCord, adding yet another intriguing name to their quarterback pipeline.
Perhaps most impressive is that every single pick came from a Power 4 program—four from the SEC, two from the Big Ten, one from the Big 12, and three from the ACC. It’s a sign that the Eagles are betting on big-stage experience and proven talent.
If even half of these picks pan out, Philadelphia may look back at the 2025 draft as the foundation of their next championship run.
